A completely fabulous and uncommon Vintage Irish Dublin assayed 1967 circa, 9ct yellow gold lucky horse shoe pendant or large charm.
An ancient symbol of good luck in various forms, for centuries the horse shoe has been believed to ward off evil and also promote fertility, while the 7 nail holes are believed to symbolise the "lucky number 7" further promoting luck and good fortune.
A horse shoe with the ends facing upward is believed to be positioned in a manner that is able to "catch and hold" good luck. While a horse shoe with the ends facing down is believed to be useful for pouring out good luck onto others.
A delightful addition to any collection, this piece would make a great gift and would look great worn as a pendant on a neck lace, or as a large charm on a bracelet.
