Vintage Art Deco Sterling Silver Moonstone & Sapphire Fringe Necklace

A truly enchanting piece of vintage jewellery, this Art Deco sterling silver fringe necklace combines the ethereal glow of moonstone with the rich, inky blue of sapphire to spectacular effect.

 

Beautifully articulated across the neckline, the necklace features a succession of elongated navette-shaped moonstone cabochons, individually bezel set in sterling silver and suspended as delicate fringe drops. Their softly translucent bodies come alive as they catch the light, revealing flashes of cool blue and silvery-white that give the necklace an almost moonlit, otherworldly quality.

 

Interspersed throughout are faceted natural blue sapphires, bezel set into petite geometric silver settings. DETAILS

 

•  Stamped 'STERLING' on the spring ring clasp.  The chain has been tested as solid sterling silver.
• Measures approx 41cm long. 
•  Weighs 8.10 grams.
•  The moonstones are graduated in size, measuring from 10mm X 5mm to 17mm X 6mm.
•  The sapphires vary in size from 2mm X 4mm to 4mm X 6mm.
•  Stones have been tested.

 

CONDITION

 

Good preloved vintage condition, with some minor signs of wear.  Some natural inclusions and impurities within the stones are visible.  Some minor surface scuffing to the moonstones is present, expectant with age.  All of the sapphire stones present in nice condition, with no notable cracks, chips or damage. A couple of small chips to the moonstones is present, only noticeable upon close inspection.  The spring ring clasp functions well.
