Vintage 1994 9ct Gold Folding Comb Miniature Comb Charm Or Pendant

A wonderfully unusual piece of vintage English gold jewellery, this charming miniature folding comb pendant dates to circa 1994 and is beautifully crafted in 9ct gold.

 

Far more than an ordinary charm, this delightful little piece has been designed as a genuine miniature folding comb. When closed, the comb neatly disappears into its decorative gold casing, creating a compact and elegant pendant; gently unfold it to reveal the tiny, finely formed comb concealed within. The working articulated design gives the piece a wonderful sense of novelty and craftsmanship.

 

The outer case is particularly pretty, embellished with ornate scrolling foliate-style detailing that lends the charm an almost antique-inspired appearance. Its warm gold finish and intricate decoration make it just as attractive closed as it is opened.

 

The reverse carries English hallmarks, including the 375 mark denoting 9ct gold, together with assay/date marks consistent with its 1990s manufacture.

 

Complete with its gold suspension loop, it is ready to be worn from a favourite fine chain or added to a charm collection.

•  Full English Birmingham hallmarks for 9ct gold are present. Date stamp for the year 1994.  Unidentified makers mark 'SP' also present.
•  Weighs 2.61 grams.
•  Measures approx 26mm X 9mm when closed and 45mm long when folded open. 

 

CONDITION 

 

Very good vintage preloved condition, with only minor signs of wear.  Some fine marks, scratches and mild patina may be present. Hallmarks are all crisp and clear. The comb folds in and out of the case very well.
