A completely wonderful and unique Vintage 1946 9ct yellow gold and carved shell cameo brooch, with a nicely detailed depiction of a mythical fairy like creature playing a harp.
This unique and beautiful piece was crafted in Birmingham by WH Tandy & Sons of Vyse street, and chester assayed in the1946.
The shell cameo is set into a solid 9ct gold bezel setting, framed with lovely twisted rope like detail.
The reverse of the brooch is stamped with full hallmark on the frame, as well as a makers mark stamped on the pin, and a 9ct situated under the pin hinge.
This piece would make a superb gift for anyone with an interest in vintage fine jewellery, or a simple wonderful collectors addition to any collection.

Condition
Good preloved Vintage condition with some signs of wear that are consistent with age and use. Some fine stress lines are visible to the cameo. The cameo carving remains nicely preserved, showing very good detail. The pin works well, and a safety chain is present. Hallmarks are fairly worn, however remain distinguishable under magnification.
