An exceptional and intriguing piece of early 20th-century British ceremonial silver, this substantial sterling silver triangular jewel was crafted by the renowned regalia maker William Henry Toyé and hallmarked in London for the year 1918.

Measuring an impressive size of 60mm x 64mm and weighing 21.90 grams, this beautifully die-struck jewel displays remarkable craftsmanship throughout.

Richly decorated with finely detailed oak leaves and acorns, symbols traditionally associated with strength, endurance and wisdom, it is further embellished with repeated intertwined monograms and a matching central roundel, giving the piece a striking and distinctive appearance.

This piece bears the sought-after William Henry Toyé (WHT) sponsor's mark together with the original TOYE & Co. LONDON retailer's stamp.

William Henry Toyé was one of Britain's foremost manufacturers of ceremonial regalia, producing high-quality insignia for Masonic bodies, Friendly Societies, civic organisations and military institutions throughout the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. Pieces bearing his marks are increasingly appreciated for both their historical significance and exceptional quality.

Extensive research suggests this jewel may have been produced for a fraternal organisation, with the repeated intertwined monograms appearing to read "AAD". Combined with the prominent oak-and-acorn decoration, this raises the intriguing possibility that it may relate to the Ancient Association of Druids, although this attribution has not been conclusively verified.

Regardless of its original organisation, it is undoubtedly an authentic and beautifully made example of British ceremonial silver from one of the country's most respected regalia makers.

Manufactured in 1918, during the final year of the First World War, this jewel represents a fascinating period in British history and the long-standing tradition of ceremonial craftsmanship for which Toyé became internationally renowned.

Whether you are a collector of antique sterling silver, historical regalia, Masonic memorabilia, Friendly Society artefacts or Druidic collectables, this is a scarce and highly decorative piece that is sure to attract interest.
