An absolutely MARVELOUS Antique Australian 9CT gold & bloodstone signet ring.
Dated to sometime between 1890 - 1920, this magnificent ring is expertise crafted by well known & reputable early Melbourne jeweller Aronson & Co. Complete with full early Australian hallmarks, showing a flag, representing Aronson & Co as the maker of this pieces, alongside a 9 for 9ct and a sheaf of wheat, representing the early Australian guarantee for solid 9ct gold jewellery. These hallmarks are consistent with Australia's very first stamping system for fine gold jewellery.
A particularly desirable piece for our collectors & admirers of Antique Australian jewellery, this stunning ring flaunts a large flat oval bloodstone face measuring 15mm X 10.5mm, set into a practical low setting. The setting and shoulders of this ring are elegantly defined by an ornate & beautifully detailed floral design, detailing fern fronds and flowers, possibly sunflowers.
The solid 9ct old rosey gold that has been used to craft this piece, boasts a bloomed finish, typical of its era, creating a rich higher carat appearance and significantly enhancing the detail of the floral design.

Condition
Good preloved Antique condition with some signs of wear that are commensurate with the age and use of this piece. Some fine marks/ scratches/ imperfections are present, adding age appropriate character to this piece. There are a couple of small chips to the edges of the bloodstone, these are only noticeable upon close inspection. The face of the bloodstone appears nicely preserved, with no significant scratches or chips. The floral detail surrounding the setting and shoulders is nicely preserved and retaining a splendid level of detail that is enhanced through the bloomed finish of this piece. The old Australian hallmarks are crisp and clear, and the shank is thick and round, showing no significant signs of thinning.
