Antique 1886 Victorian 18ct Yellow Gold Garnet, Diamond & Opal Ring.
A truly captivating treasure from the Victorian era, this exquisite antique ring was crafted in 1886 and beautifully embodies the romance and artistry of 19th century jewellery design.
Richly fashioned in luxurious 18ct yellow gold, the ring features a glowing deep red garnet at its centre — a gemstone long associated with passion, devotion and protection. The garnet’s warm crimson hue is beautifully complemented by four sparkling old-cut diamonds, delicately nestled around it, adding refined brilliance and timeless charm. At either end sit two enchanting opals, each displaying a soft, ethereal play of colour that shimmers gently in the light.
Their subtle flashes contrast beautifully against the warmth of the gold and the intensity of the garnet, creating a harmonious and romantic composition.
The setting itself is a work of art. The gallery and shoulders are adorned with intricate engraved scrollwork, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of the Victorian period. These hand-finished details are a testament to the quality and care invested in fine jewellery of this era — something rarely replicated today.
Over 130 years old, this ring carries with it the history and sentiment of generations past. It remains both elegant and wearable, whether as a unique engagement ring, a meaningful anniversary piece, or a distinguished addition to any antique jewellery collection.
