Antique English 1905 Edwardian Compass & Bloodstone Spinning Fob Pendant
An absolutely brilliant & interesting Antique 9ct Gold spinning compass pendant, crafted by Mathew Wilcox & Son, assayed in Birmingham in 1905. At an incredible 119 years of age, the compass appears to be functional with the pin pulling towards the North when turned.
This piece is fully Hallmarked with its makers mark, gold refinement, and date stamp on the compass itself, with all hallmarks visible, while the spinning frame is stamped with a simple and nicely camouflaged 375 stamp.
Displaying an intricately hand detailed & functioning compass to one face of the fob, while the opposite face reveals a deep green bloodstone seal with glimmering red inclusions. The spinning fob itself is secured to a solid 9ct gold decorative frame, enabling the compass to spin freely in the setting.
This desirable antique piece boasts a hue of both buttery old yellow gold & Old Rose gold, making this a versatile piece to nicely complement any chain.
A smart addition to any collection, this beautiful little compass fob is an absolute delight to any collector of the hard to find antique pieces.

Condition
Very good antique condition with some minor signs of wear that are commensurate with age. Glass face of the compass is intact, with some fine scratches to the face. Some minor signs of wear to the bloodstone seal. Pendant spins nicely. Compass appears to be functional, with the pin moving when the compass is turned accordingly.
