A brilliant little Antique Edwardian era 925 sterling silver triskele or triskelion charm or small pendant.

This piece displays chester hallmarks dating to the early 1900's, aswel as a nice little round frame of well preserved blue enamel.   The makers stamp is worn, however, with research it is believed to have been crafted by early English Silversmith, Charles Horner.

The triskelion or triskele symbol is an ancient symbol that represents both the three elements of Earth: Earth, water and air; aswell as the three aspects of the triple goddess in Celtic mythology.  The maiden, mother and crone.

This interesting and rather unusual little piece could be worn as either a charm on a bracelet, or on a neck chain as a pendant, and would make an ideal gift for anyone with an appreciation for the triskele symbol.

Details

  •  hallmarks are worn, but visible.  Chester assay and lion are both visible.  Date stamp is difficult to decipher due to wear, and is estimated to be dated between 1901-1919. Makers mark is worn, and not visible, however, with research I have been able to determine that the maker was most likely Charles Horner.
  • weighs 1.86 grams.
  • measures approx 17mm in diameter.

Condition

Good preloved condition with some signs of wear that are commensurate with age and use.  The hallmarks are fairly worn. The enamel is surprisingly well preserved, showing no significant damage. The charm overall, is in nice antique condition.
