A vibrant and eye catching Antique, Australian 9ct gold & green Peking glass navette ring, by reputable Australian jeweller, William Drummond.  This piece dates to approximately 1890-1910.

A fabulous piece of Antique Australian history, this gorgeous ring flaunts a unique navette design, featuring a large cabochon cut antique Peking glass stone. Crafted by Melbourne jewellery and silver smithing company, William Drummond & Co, who were well known for their quality craftsmanship, and importing of luxury goods from international brands, such as Tiffany & Co.

Peking glass, originating from China during the Qing Dynasty, is a layered glass that was crafted by glass blowers by repeatedly dipping a core shape into molten glass, and then carved by artisans to reveal mottled layers of colour.  Peking glass was often used for crafting vases and snuff bottles, however, it was also a popular alternative choice to precious stones in fine jewellery during the early 20th century- art deco period.

This beautiful and interesting antique piece would make a fine addition for anyone who appreciates Antique Australian jewellery, or a simply unique addition to any jewellery collection.
