Antique Australian 9ct Gold & Garnet Double Great White Shark tooth brooch

An incredibly Rare Museum quality piece of Antique Australian history.

An impressive double great white shark tooth brooch, expertise Crafted from solid 9ct old Rosey hued gold. Displaying a confident and handsome trio of Natural Australian Garnet stones as its centre piece, joining Two individual double Great White shark teeth at the centre, and finished with gentle etched details and capped ends on each tooth to ensure a stable hold of the two large shark teeth. 

A brilliant Antique Talisman of protection, expertise Crafted by Australian jeweller C.Piers of Adelaide, this stunning piece is dated to sometime between 1890-1920, and is hallmarked to the reverse with a crisp 9CT and makers mark. Complete with its matching display box, this piece would look incredible and garner plenty of attention if kept on display to be admired. 

An obvious trophy piece, displaying two nicely preserved and rather large, Great White Shark teeth, that are equally matched in size and appearance. A perfect indication that these teeth most definately would have been removed by hand, directly from the jaws of a medium to large Great White shark, by a skilled Fisherman that would have been incredibly proud of his dangerous catch.

Details 

• Stamped to the reverse with a bold 9CT and makers mark: "C.PIERS"
• The teeth have been professionally assessed as teeth from a now protected species of shark, The Great White. 
• The shark teeth each measure approximately 20mm X 22mm 
• The complete brooch measures approximately 50mm X 23mm
• The luscious natural garnet stones measures approximately 3mm each, with slight variation in size, and boast a consistent deep blood red colour. 
• Weighs 6.41 grams in total. 
• Comes with its original Antique button open display box. 

Condition 

This piece presents in Good preloved antique condition with some signs of wear that are commensurate with age and use. There is a missing safety chain, however, the bale attatchement remains intact,  ensuring a safety chain could be easily replaced, or altered slightly to be worn as a pendant if desired. There are a couple of very small dents present on the gold centre. The teeth are brilliantly preserved.
