A wonderful piece of history for any of our collectors or admirers of fine Antique Australian jewellery, we have this marvellous Antique victorian era 9ct old buttery yellow gold & Amazonite navette style ring.

 

This piece is Australian in manufacture, crafted by reputable Melbourne jeweller, William Drummond & Co.

 

Founder, William Drummond was a Scottish immigrant that came to Melbourne during the mid 1800's. William originally worked in Melbourne as a jeweller & goldsmith, later expanding his business offering an abundance of high end silver or various sorts.

 

Well known for their high quality products, William Drummond & co sold imported silverware from luxury manufactures, such as Tiffany & Co, and also hired local Australian artisans, who crafted one off bespoke pieces  to supply to their clientele.

 

This stunning and unique Antique piece is estimated to be dated to sometime between 1880-1900, and boasts a single large oval cabochon cut natural Amazonite stone. Greenish blue in colour, the unique stone boasts a polished mottled appearance that adds an extra touch of eye- catching interest to this gorgeous piece!

 

This wonderful heirloom quality piece would make an incredible gift for anyone who appreciates fine Antique Australian jewellery, or a simply wonderful addition to any collection of fine jewellery.

Condition

 

Good preloved Antique condition with some minor signs of wear that are consistent with age and use.  Some minor scuff marks are present to the Amazonite stone- no cracks or chips. The stone is securely set within its solid bezel setting. Some fine marks and scratches are present to the gold. The sturdy narrow shank is nice and round, showing no significant signs of thinning.
