Antique Australian 15ct Gold Ruby & Seed Pearl 5 Stone Star Set Gypsy Ring SizeV

An enchanting Antique Australian crafted late Victorian, circa 1880-1900, 15ct old Rosey gold gypsy style ring.

 

This delightful old piece features an alternating 5 stone combination of Natural rich pink rubies and lustrous silvery and cream coloured seed pearls, flush star set across the face of the ring.

Details

 

•  Partial hallmarks are present- a very worn '15' stamp, accompanied by a worn "hanging fleece". The hanging fleece was an early Australian stamp for 15ct gold, indicating that this piece is both solid 15ct gold and early Australian. 
•  Measures as a larger size 10 3/4 US or V UK / AU.
•  The inner diameter of the band measures 20mm. 
•  Weighs 2.40 grams.
•  The face of the ring measures approx 6.5mm wide, tapering to 5.5mm at the shoulders and 2mm at the base of the shank. 
•  The vibrant pink Ruby stones have been tested, and measure approx 2mm each in diameter. 
•  The natural and original seed pearls vary in hue from cream to silver, measuring between 1mm - 2mm in diameter. 

 

Condition

 

Good preloved Antique condition with some signs of wear that are commensurate with age and use.  All stones appear original to the piece, and present in nice condition, showing no significant scratches, chips or notable damage. All stones are held secure in their settings.  Minor nacre loss to the little seed pearls is present, although they still present with a lovely rolling lustre.  Some fine marks, scratches and aged patina to the gold may be present.  Hallmarks are fairly worn/ only partially visible.  The shank does show signs of thinning, although this is likely due to a previous resize/ size increase, and the shank remains strong and round.
