Antique Australian 15ct Gold Pink & White Sapphire 5 Stone Ring Size N Or 7

A marvellous Antique Australian 15ct gold & sapphire 5 stone ring, by early Australian Jewellers, S.Hoffnung & Co. 

A fabulous piece of early Australian history, this gorgeous ring is expertise crafted from solid buttery old 15ct yellow gold, and flaunts a single bright pink sapphire to the centre.  The vibrant and generously sized pink sapphire is flanked by four slightly smaller sparkling white sapphires, all claw set, with two white sapphires positioned to either side.

This piece was manufactured in Brisbane, Queensland by Renowned Australian manufacturing Jeweller, Walter F. Cole, for Brisbane Jewellers, S. Hoffnung & Co.

Estimated to be dated to 1910-1920 circa, this stunning ring is a superb example of Antique Australian fine Jewellery, and would make an incredible heirloom quality addition to any collection.

Details

- Hallmarks are present, showing signs of wear. 15C, a worn anvil and a worn H stamp are all present. 

- Weighs 2.65 grams.

- Measures as a size 7 US or N UK/AU.

- Inner diameter of the band measures 17mm.

- The central pink sapphire measures approx 4.5mm in diameter.

- The four outer white sapphires measure

approx 3-3.5mm in diameter, with slight variations in size.

- All stones have been tested.

Condition

Good preloved antique condition with some signs of wear that are commensurate with age and use. All stones present in nice condition, some minor surface impurities to the stones are visible only upon microscopic magnification. All stones sit securely in their claw settings.  Some fine marks, scratches and antique patina may be present.  Some minor pitting the reverse of the setting is present.  Hallmarks show signs of wear. The band is nice and round, showing no significant signs of thinning.
